What does CITIJUNK do?

Our crews clear, collect and remove  junk,  general rubbish and waste in handy two-hour time slots from homes and businesses throughout London.

CITIJUNK's booking centre (08000 55 65 75) is open between 6am and 9pm, 7 days per week. Our rubbish clearance crews are available between 7am and 9pm Monday-Friday, 7am to 3pm Saturday-Sunday.

What type of things do you clear, collect and remove?

Almost anything! The following list offers a flavour of our repertoire but it's by no means exhaustive.

  • Bulky furniture and bric-a-brac
Sofa, armchairs, sofa-beds, bed bases, mattresses, kitchenware, fireplaces, tables, cupboards, glass, filing cabinets, books, brochures, boxes, carpet, clothes and   other textiles...

  • 'White goods' and other electrical appliances
Fridges, freezers, dishwashers, washing machines, washer dryers, TVs, stereos, computers, printers, fax machines, photocopiers and other IT equipment...

  • Garden refuse
Grass, leaves, branches, turf, sods, compost, soil, dirt, broken patios, tubs, pots, foliage, barbecues, lawnmowers, tools, sheds, gates, lumber, fencing, wood...

  • Construction waste
Plaster, concrete, drywall, plywood, tiles, flooring, pallets, crates...

What stuff can't CITIJUNK deal with?

For legal, and health and safety reasons, we can't remove certain hazardous materials such as asbestos, paint or cans full of paint, solvents, motor oils, petrol cans, clinical or chemical waste, or any other toxic substances.

Are you licensed and insured to do this work?

Yes. We're licensed by the Environment Agency to carry waste under EA registration number CB/MP3714RT. Our trucks and drivers are fully insured to do the work. This covers both us and you in the unlikely event that damage is caused to your property when we're removing waste, junk and general rubbish from your premises.

How do you charge?

In most cases, it's by volume. You'll only be charged by weight for really heavy materials such as concrete, soil and rubble. Our prices include all labour and disposal fees.

Government regulations mean we're forced to pay extra fees to dispose of certain items such as refrigerators, televisions and computer monitors. Although, unfortunately, we must pass on these charges, we'll always make you aware of them before beginning to clear away your waste, junk and general rubbish.

How and when do I pay?

We ask for payment at the time of collection. You can pay by debit or credit card - or by cheque, provided it's accompanied by a cheque guarantee card. Alternatively, if you're a business customer and open an account, we can invoice you by email or by post for BACs payment on 28 day terms.

Why can't you give me an exact price over the phone?

We do our very best to offer guidance on likely prices over the phone. However, our rates are based on the amount and type of junk we remove. This means we can only confirm exact costs once we see what junk there is to take away. Should you choose not to accept our offer, you're entirely free to cancel the transaction.

Why are appointments booked in two-hour timeslots?

We collect junk in handy two-hour slots to allow for heavy traffic and any other unforeseen circumstances 'en route'. We always call ahead to let you know when we're within 30 minutes of your home or business address.

Do I have to be at the property to have the job done?

No. We'll call you once we arrive at the address and provide an exact quote. If you're happy with it, we'll then go ahead, processing your card payment remotely once we've completed the job. Alternatively, we can invoice business customers who also aren't present at job completion.

How big is your truck?

Our truck containers are roomy at 16.4 cubic yards and bigger than those of our closest competitors. Not only that, they're almost 3 times the size of a 6 cubic yard domestic skip.

What equipment do you bring with you?

We use shoe covers, dust sheets, rubble sacks, a sack trolley, buckets, a hoover, brushes and shovels to help us clear and clean up as we go.

What do you do with the junk?

We recycle all of your junk, general rubbish and waste in safe, secure and sustainable ways through our supporting network of local charities and material recycling facilities.

Why CITIJUNK and not a skip?

That's an easy one! No waiting around for licences and permits, no flat fee and no waste of your time and energy. Our on-demand, purpose-built trucks offer nearly 3 times the capacity of a standard skip, our prices are limited to the amount of waste we clear, and our highly trained uniformed teams do all the work for you. What's more, any waste we collect from you is responsibly recycled - relieving the growing pressure on landfill sites.
